harvard

the more experience i get in design, the more i realize it's a lot like short heterosexual men and unicorns ... not real. they exist in only the academic realm, and for a few of their most successful purveyors. Even those individuals, however, have become so accustomed to sacrificing their principles to reconcile with a small and uneducated market that they become merely stylists and one-note johnnys, afraid to take a chance that might jeopardize their limelight.
as a result, when i think about my future, i'm faced with an unfortunate decision. either i can do what might be most interesting yet frustrating, or i can make money. lately, i find myself choosing the latter.
if i go to business school and get a job, at least i'll be making money, working inevitably to my own benefit. if i go into design, i'll be spinning my wheels and going crazy.
